HCP Reference Guide for Parkinson’s Disease Patients in Hospital
Dr Hooman Azmi, a leading expert in the treatment of PD, discusses his newly released book, co-authored with Dr. Fiona Gupta, called “Parkinson’s Disease for the Hospitalist: Managing the Complex Care of a Vulnerable Population” (Lioncrest Publishing, November 19, 2018). The book was written as a reference guide for any and all healthcare providers who tend to Parkinsons Disease patients while in hospital, and it is also a great reference for the family of PD patients.
Hooman Azmi, MD, FAANS, is the director of the Division of Functional and Restorative Neurosurgery at Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey. He has authored numerous articles on the topic of Parkinson’s disease and has lectured extensively on this subject. Dr. Azmi has spent the last ten years developing innovative protocols and programs to improve the care of patients with Parkinson’s disease, especially when they have been admitted to the hospital. Dr Azmi is a partner at North Jersey Brain and Spine Center and the co-author of Parkinson’s Disease for the Hospitalist: Managing the Complex Care of a Vulnerable Population (Lioncrest Publishing).
