For the first time, the WHO has announced that China has beaten the United States in terms of having healthy life expectancy at birth. According to WHO data, newborns in China can look forward to 68.7 years of healthy life in the future versus 68.5 years for American babies. The overall life expectancy rate for American babies is 78.5 years but the last 10 years are not expected to be healthy.
