At OAI, he managed the firm’s daily operations and major clients, including Georgetown University, MedStar Health, and Special Olympics. In his previous role as CEO of Food Allergy Research & Education, Lehr merged two legacy organizations into one national organization focused on finding medical solutions for and educating the public on food allergies. Before this, he served as CEO of CureSearch for Children’s Cancer, a national research and advocacy organization. From 2004 to 2009, he directed the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Milestones to a Cure Campaign that raised $175 million in support of cystic fibrosis drug discovery and development.

Guest Bio: Kirrilie Smout is a clinical psychologist who has worked with children, young people and their families and teachers for 20 years.  She has counselled hundreds of young people and is the founder and director of Developing Minds, a child/adolescent psychology clinic where 15 other child/adolescent psychologists see over 200 children and families each week.  Kirrilie also has presented seminars to over 50 thousand school students, teachers and parents across Australia, is the author of three books for kids, teens and their parents (When Life Sucks, When Life Sucks for Kids & The Years that Count) and is frequently consulted by national TV/print and radio media outlets. She is also the founder of Calm Kid Central, an online training and support centre for children (and their parents/professionals who work with them) who struggle with worry, frustration or challenging behaviour.

Previous employment experience includes President and General Manager for Silicon Biosystems developing an imaged-based “liquid biopsy” diagnostic platform for circulating tumor cells. His career in marketing and sales management spans the computer, life science and medical diagnostics industries. Robert holds a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts from The State University of New York at Albany and an Executive Master of Business Administration from the Penn State Smeal College of Business.

Guest Bio: Michelle Robins has been working as a Credentialled Diabetes Educator since 1993.  She has worked on 40 diabetes-related committees and working parties, produced book chapters, presented at national and international conferences, more than 100 workshops. Michelle is currently employed as the Nurse Practitioner Diabetes at Northern Health and is member of the Deakin University Conjoint Academic staff.  She has produced several clinical guidelines and position statements for the Australian Diabetes Educators Association and she was a key presenter at the first Australian and New Zealand Forum for Injection Technique and Therapy Expert Recommendations (FITTER) held in Sydney this year.

Guest Bio: Dr. Timothy Craig is a Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at Penn State University.  He trained in the US Navy after which he started his academic career at the University of Iowa and then transferred to Penn State to start an Allergy and Immunology Program.  He is a Distinguished Educator, Program Director, Section Chief and a Fellow of the AAAAI, ACP, ACAAI and ACOI. Dr Craig is the director of the Alpha-1-Deficiency Center at Penn State University. He is the recipient of multiple teaching awards, has published over 250 manuscripts and has delivered over 350 invited lectures.  Lastly, he is proud to be a Vietnam Education Foundation Scholar.
