How is the Secretive World of Taxpayer-Funded Laboratories Harming Animals and Eroding Public Trust in Science?

Amy Meyer, Manager of Primate Experimentation Campaigns for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) discusses what is happening to animals inside taxpayer-funded laboratories and the public records PETA sued to obtain and why.

Amy Meyer is the manager of primate experimentation campaigns for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). She helps lead the group’s work to shut down the monkey abduction pipeline and close the federally funded national primate research centers. Among other victories, she has persuaded EGYPTAIR and Kenya Airways to end their transport of monkeys to laboratories, helped prevent JOINN Biologics from opening a new monkey-holding and -breeding operation in Florida, and helped stop notorious monkey transporter Jeffrey Quebedeaux from opening a monkey quarantine facility in Louisiana.
