Medtronic – Acquisition of Affera – Expansion of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Tools
Returning guest, Rebecca Seidel, President, Cardiac Ablation Solutions Operating Unit at Medtronic discusses the recent acquisition of Affera, Inc, a medical technology company, which expanded Medtronic’s atrial and ventricular arrhythmia disease management portfolio to include its first-ever cardiac mapping and navigation system. She talks about how this acquisition will impact and benefit patients and physicians.
Rebecca Seidel is the president of the Cardiac Ablation Solutions (CAS) Operating Unit at Medtronic. Previously, she served as vice president and general manager of the Infection Control business where she led the integration and global expansion of that business. Over Rebecca’s 18-year career with Medtronic, she has held roles in commercialization, strategy, product support, core team leadership, field service, and product marketing.
In her leadership roles at Medtronic, Rebecca’s teams have achieved milestone progress with multiple impactful FDA indication expansions; treatment expansions into new global markets; and patient treatment milestones, like over one million patients treated across the globe with cryo therapy.
A dedicated people leader, Rebecca has received several awards related to her commitment to developing employees. She is a member of the American Heart Association board, and an active participant in the Medtronic Women’s Network. Rebecca holds a B.S. in electrical engineering and master’s degree in information technology.
