Dr. Andy Hsu’s area of research is exploring how tumour cells interact with cells in the immune system that protects our body. His interests lie in identifying how cancer cells are able to hide from the immune system and grow without being detected.
Dr. Hsu recently completed a research project into promoting the body’s own natural immune cells to fight cancer as an alternative to chemotherapeutic agents. He is the recent winner of the Bupa Health Foundation Emerging Health Researcher Award.
