Guest Bio: George Savage is chief medical officer and co-founder of Proteus Digital Health, and formerly the company’s vice president of research and development. He sees Digital Medicine as an invaluable collaboration platform for patient and physician, integrating information about a patient’s response to therapy directly into everyday healthcare. George is focused on developing the clinical and economic evidence needed to secure global regulatory approvals and spur widespread adoption of Proteus’ ingestible sensor platform. He serves on the board of the California Life Sciences Association, the Boston University College of Engineering advisory council, and in 2016 was elected a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering.

Guest Bio: Jag Singh, MD, PhD, is the Associate Chief of the Cardiology Division and the Founding Director of the Resynchronization and Advanced Cardiac Therapeutics Program, at the Massachusetts General Hospital Heart Center. Dr. Singh received his medical degree from BJ Medical College, Pune University, India. He completed his internal medicine residency, cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology fellowships at Mass General. He also earned a doctorate from Oxford University, a master of science in clinical investigation from MIT and a research fellowship at the Framingham Heart Study. He is a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Singh is on the editorial board of several medical journals, Deputy Editor of the Journal of American College of Cardiology: Clinical EP and editor-in-chief of the Current Treatment Options in Cardiovascular Medicine. Dr. Singh is an internationally recognized speaker and frequently gives lectures at national and international educational forums. Dr. Singh has over 200 publications inclusive of original research articles, clinical communications, textbook chapters, review articles and editorials. He has edited a Textbook on Imaging in Electrophysiology.

Guest Bio: Dr. Tawakol graduated from Stanford Medical School and did his Medical Residency and Cardiovascular Diseases Fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He subsequently completed training in Nuclear Cardiology at Massachusetts General Hospital, after which he joined the Cardiology Division staff. His clinical focus is in nuclear cardiology and general cardiology, with a special focus on the identification of patients at highest risk for atherothrombotic event. Dr. Tawakol’s research interest is in imaging of atherosclerosis. His work has focused on developing novel diagnostic approaches and novel treatment strategies for atherosclerosis. To that end, Dr. Tawakol has developed and validated molecular methods to characterize atherosclerotic plaques, and has made seminal observations validating the use of FDG-PET imaging for the measurement of atherosclerotic plaque inflammation. Currently, he is leading several multi-center trials to evaluate interventions targeting plaque inflammation and is evaluating the potential clinical role of vascular PET imaging for improving the identification of patients at highest risk for atherothrombotic events.

Guest Bio: Bonnie J. Addario, Founder, Chair & Lung Cancer Survivor, has been an activist, advocate, educator and change agent empowering patients and giving them a strong voice in the fight against lung cancer since receiving a stage 3B diagnosis more than a decade ago. Although thrust into a role that she had never envisioned for herself, she embraced it and now considers it to be her second career and a personal calling. Recognizing the critical need for education, empowerment, advocacy and research to help patients and families, especially those without resources and support, Bonnie and her family founded the Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation (ALCF) in 2006, and then went on to found the Addario Lung Cancer Medical Institute (ALCMI) with her husband, Tony Addario, in 2008. Bonnie’s business acumen and skills honed in her first career as President of Olympian Oil Company and Commercial Fueling Network (CFN), as Past President of the CA Independent Oil Marketers Association (CIOMA) and as a community activist serving on diverse boards have all contributed to her work at ALCF in developing business strategies and being the Foundation’s patient voice at national/international conferences, on panels and boards, and to industry leaders, clinicians and policy makers.
