Guest Bio: Antony Bell is the CEO of Leader Development Inc. Guest Bio: Belinda Beck is a Professor at Griffith University in the School of Allied Health Sciences and the Menzies Health Institute Queensland and a Director of The Bone Clinic. She graduated from The University of Queensland (BHMS[Ed]) and from the University of Oregon (MSc and PhD) where she studied sports medicine and exercise physiology. She completed a postdoctoral research fellowship in the Stanford University School of Medicine (CA, USA). Her work, primarily related to the effects of mechanical loading on bone, has involved both animal and human models, from basic to clinical research. Her particular focuses have been exercise interventions for the prevention of osteoporosis and fracture in old age, and the prevention and management of bone stress injuries in the military. Her work has involved observational and clinical trials in exercise and vibration training across the lifespan. She recently co-founded The Bone Clinic, an innovative translational research facility and health service with a focus on safe and efficacious exercise for osteoporosis.

Guest Bio: Peter is a Professor at Curtin University, School of Physiotherapy and Exercise Science, Western Australia and works part time as a Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist at Bodylogic physiotherapy. He and his team conduct clinical research investigating the life course, the underlying mechanisms and targeted management of persistent and disabling musculoskeletal pain disorders. With his team he has developed an integrated person centred management approach for disabling musculoskeletal pain disorders called ‘cognitive functional therapy’. He has published over 200 papers and numerous book chapters with his team in international peer review journals, has been an invited speaker at more than 90 National and International conferences and has run clinical workshops in over 24 countries.  Peter’s passion is translating research into clinical practice.

Guest Bio: Caroline Mitchell, MD, MPH is a faculty member in the Vincent Center for Reproductive Biology at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.  Dr. Mitchell received her medical degree from Harvard Medical School and did her OB/Gyn residency training at the University of Washington in Seattle, where she also received her MPH degree. She spent seven years on the faculty at the University of Washington before returning to Boston in 2014.  She now spends the majority of her time in the lab doing translational and basic science research.  Her work focuses on the relationship between the vaginal microbiota, mucosal immune responses and reproductive health.  Clinically, she is the director of the Vulvovaginal Disorders Program at the Massachusetts General Hospital main campus.

Guest Bio: Dr. Sylvia E. Morris, MD, MPH, is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine. Her goal is to utilize media to improve the nation’s public health by combining her training in internal medicine, holistic medicine and public health. To this end, she has appeared as a medical contributor on the Weather Channel, CNN International, CBS Atlanta, and Fox Atlanta. She has been quoted in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Prevention magazine. In addition, she speaks at many community forums and delivers health awareness presentations.  

Most recently, Dr. Morris was a senior medical director on the Revenue Cycle Solutions team at The Advisory Board Company. She also served as a medical director for CVS Minute Clinic, and an assistant professor of medicine at the Emory University School of Medicine where she worked as a hospitalist. She developed health promotion lectures and social media content. Active on the Emory University campus, she was named a 2011-12 Emory Community Builder and honored as a Transforming Communities Project Champion. She also worked on the development of the curriculum for Emory University’s inaugural healthcare dialogue and served on the Emory University President’s Commission on Race and Ethnicity. In addition, Dr. Morris led a delegation of international college students to New Zealand and Australia to study the health systems of those regions.Dr. Morris earned a bachelor’s degree in molecular and cell biology from the University of California at Berkeley. She received a master’s degree in public health at the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health, with a certificate in health policy and management. Her Medical degree is from Georgetown University School of Medicine. She completed residency in internal Medicine at the University of Washington Medical Center, Seattle.
