William D. Chey, M.D., is a Professor of Gastroenterology & Nutrition Sciences, and Director of the GI Nutrition & Behavioral Wellness Program at Michigan Medicine in Ann Arbor. He received his medical degree & training in internal medicine at the Emory University School of Medicine and completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Michigan. Since completing this fellowship, Dr. Chey has remained at the institution, where he runs an active clinical research group. Dr. Chey has authored more than 300 manuscripts, reviews, and book chapters, and serves on the editorial boards of several journals. He serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the American College of Gastroenterology and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Rome Foundation and Advisory Board of the IFFGD.
