David Harrell is the Chairman and CEO of TranspareRx, the leading healthcare technology company bringing transparency to prescription drug pricing. Harrell is a recognized healthcare industry leader with more than 30 years of pharmaceutical and healthcare technology experience.
Prior to creating Cuverd, Harrell founded and led as CEO of OptimizeRx, the leading provider of clinical and promotional content at point of care within a network of over 350 electronic health records (EHR) platforms. For more than 10 years, he led the company from a start-up to a publicly traded company trading on the NASDAQ (OPRX).
Earlier in his career, Harrell held leadership positions at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), where he specialized in the managed markets and payer segments. As part of the Integrated Health Division, he was responsible for contracting and revenue growth for GSK’s four business units: Pharmaceuticals, Consumer Health, Clinical Labs and Diversified Pharmaceutical Services (PBM) within the Midwest region managed care organizations.
Harrell began his pharmaceutical career with Adria Laboratories after graduating from Oakland University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
