Colleen Acosta, CEO and Co-Founder of Freya Biosciences, a biotech company dedicated to advancing women’s reproductive health discusses the critical needs facing women’s healthcare and the complexities of reproductive health for families and individuals worldwide. She talks about what it means to be a female leader in bioscience, the significance of her leadership role, the broader responsibilities that go along with it, and the experiences that led her to where she is now.

Colleen Acosta is the CEO and Co-founder of Freya Biosciences, a biotech company dedicated to advancing women’s reproductive health. Prior to Freya Biosciences, Colleen led several teams as an epidemiologist for the WHO where she was awarded the Director General Award for Excellence. With over 15 years of health experience, she has worked extensively in international health emergencies, especially in outbreak response, most notably with the Ebola Response Team in Sierra Leone and the Zika outbreak response in the Americas. She received her PhD from the University of Oxford and MPH from Johns Hopkins University.
