Allison London Brown, CEO of UVision360, Inc. in North Carolina, discusses the Luminelle DTx Hysteroscopy System. Traditionally, these procedures are conducted in a hospital or ambulatory setting. But the Luminelle system is compact and designed to be used in the doctor’s office, and the company is expected to file an application with the FDA that will allow doctors to conduct the first visual hysteroscope biopsy outside a hospital setting. This technology will help to fill an unmet medical need brought on by the COVID pandemic.

Dr. Mark Allen, MD, co-founder and CEO of Elevian, developer of therapies to treat age-related diseases like stroke and diabetes, discusses the drug candidate, recombinant growth differentiation factor 11 (rGDF11) with broad therapeutic benefits demonstrated in numerous animal studies. “Science” recognized GDF11 as a top scientific breakthrough calling it “the rejuvenation factor”.

Dr. Leigh Peterson, Ph.D., Vice President of Product Development at United Therapeutics discusses data published in the “New England Journal of Medicine” (Jan 2021) on the INCREASE study evaluating Tyvaso in pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease (PH-ILD). The INCREASE study is the first to demonstrate a clear benefit in patients with PH-ILD, a life-threatening disease with no currently FDA-approved treatments.  She talks about what’s next for Tyvaso as they look to achieve FDA approval.

John Orwin, President and CEO of Atreca, a biopharmaceutical company, discusses their drug Discovery Platform and how they are thinking differently about the fight against cancer and their part in helping to fuel the next generation of antibody-based advancements in cancer treatment.
