Salivary gland tumors, how genomic testing helps cure cancer

In this segment of Health Professional Radio, Keith Taggart discussed the importance of genomic testing in curing cancer.

Keith Taggart (age 62) was diagnosed with salivary glands tumors in 2014. Despite treatment, Keith’s cancer spread to his kidney, liver, and lungs, and he was given 3-4 weeks to live. Having tried chemotherapy, surgery and radiation without success, Keith turned to genomic cancer testing to better understand his disease. Through genomic testing, he became educated about his disease and was placed on an appropriate treatment, which has helped shrink his tumors. As a result of Keith’s experience, he hopes to raise awareness of Test Your Cancer, a resource that helps educate about the value of genomic cancer testing.
