UCB Partnership with NextSense in Seizure Detection Research

Colin Lake, Vice President of Digital Business Transformation for Neurology at UCB, discusses the company’s approach to digital solutions and how they complement UCB’s medicines for people living with epilepsy. He’ll spend time discussing a new collaboration with NextSense, a data platform and research on detecting seizures with biosensing earbuds that can be worn comfortably at night and as needed throughout the day. 

Colin Lake serves as the Head of Digital Business Transformation Neurology at UCB. In his current role, Colin spearheads UCB’s efforts to improve the support for patients and key stakeholders in the healthcare ecosystem by driving UCB’s ambitious digital agenda.

He leads the development of the UCB Digital Business Transformation strategy in collaboration with UCB’s DBT Leadership team, including the identification of opportunities, execution plans and KPI measurement. Colin fosters strong internal and external stakeholder relationships across the organization to drive impactful business changes to strengthen UCB’s Digital Business Transformation efforts.

Colin has had extensive experience designing and delivering digital services across a variety of industries. Prior to UCB, Colin held positions at Partizan Health and Merck KGaA where he gained experience in working across the full spectrum of pharmaceutical processes, including R&D, Medical, Regulatory, Patient Support, and Sales and Marketing, to unite patient needs, technology, and business imperatives.

In his spare time, Colin is very active, playing soccer and golf regularly. He relaxes by cooking and walking his dog. Whilst currently living in the U.S., Colin is originally from the U.K. and has been fortunate enough to live and work in seven different countries.
