Dr. Daniel Faden is a Head and Neck Surgical Oncologist and Translational Scientist. He completed residency training in Otolaryngology– Head and Neck Surgery at UCSF followed by clinical fellowships at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in both Advanced Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery and Cranial Base Surgery. His clinical practice focuses on head and neck and cranial base cancers with a particular interest and expertise in minimally invasive head and neck cancer surgery (TORS, TOLS, endoscopic cranial base surgery). Prior to Boston, he was a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Scholar at the National Institutes of Health/ National Human Genome Research Institute and completed a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh under Robert Ferris, MD, PhD.
Dr. Daniel Faden’s research examines how acquired genomic alterations and viral infection affect head and neck cancer initiation, growth, and response to treatment. As a practicing head and neck cancer surgeon, the overarching goal of Dr. Faden’s research is to translate findings from the laboratory to clinical advancements that address the most pressing problems faced by head and neck cancer patients
