Fighting Blood Cancers with New and Innovative Treatments
September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month and Dr. Caron Jacobson, MD, Clinical Director, Immune Effector Cell Therapy Program, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute discusses the blood cancers lymphoma and leukemia and CAR T therapies.
Caron Jacobson is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and a member of the lymphoma group at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. She treats lymphoma patients and oversees clinical trials in B cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma. She participates in and runs industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated trials.
Most of Caron’s research is in engineered and CAR T-cell therapies. She is the medical director of the Immune Effector Cell Therapy program at Dana-Farber, overseeing the multidisciplinary efforts in CAR T-cell, engineered TCR T-cells, and NK cell therapies.
