Prior to this role, Dr. Kazemi was the Medical Director at Sanofi. Dr. Kazemi was also previously in the private Endocrinology practice, while also being the Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of California’s San Francisco Division of Diabetes.
Dr. Kazemi earned his Bachelors and Masters degrees from Stanford University, and his medical degree from University of California San Francisco.
Segment overview: In today’s Health Supplier Segment, we are joined by Senior Director, Global Medical and Scientific Affairs Abbott, Diabetes Care Dr. Mahmood Kazemi here to discuss diabetes care and management as well as the FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System. This is a glucose monitoring device indicated for detecting trends and tracking patterns in persons aged 18 and older with insulin dependent diabetes mellitus. Currently, the Australian Government’s Department of Health is conducting an evaluation of the FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring (FGM) product to consider its suitability for subsidisation under the National Diabetes Services Scheme. The Assessment panel will take into account FGM’s clinical effectiveness, safety and cost effectiveness.
