Preston Mason, MBA, PhD, is on the faculty of the Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology, at the Harvard Medical School-affiliated Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. He is also President and Founder of Elucida Research LLC, a private biotechnology firm, in Beverly, Massachusetts.
Dr. Mason received a full scholarship at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington (MD/PhD degree program). He has served on numerous grant review committees for the National Institutes of Health and other organizations. He has been the recipient of many awards and patents for his research in cardiovascular pharmacology, including an honorary doctorate in science. Prior to coming to Boston, he served on the faculties of the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and the Medical College of Pennsylvania (now Drexel University College of Medicine) where he was nominated to full professor. Dr. Mason has authored or coauthored more than 200 book chapters, abstracts, and articles in peer-reviewed journals and has been a reviewer for a number of prestigious journals. He is a frequently invited speaker at national and international conferences.
