Dr. Suela Sulo, PhD, MS, Abbott’s lead nutrition study investigator, discusses importance of surgical patients nutrition new data published in the “Journal of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition” (JPEN) by Advocate Health Care and supported by Abbott. This data showed that by implementing a nutrition care program that screens patients undergoing surgery for malnutrition and providing nutrition to those at risk,  readmission rates went down 50% and their average length of stay after surgery was shortened by 2.7 days.
