Alejandro Badia, MD, FACS is a hand and upper extremity orthopedic surgeon treating orthopedic problems with Hand & Wrist, Arm & Forearm, Elbow, and Shoulder, at Badia Hand to Shoulder Center in Doral, Florida. Dr. Badia founded OrthoNOW®, the first immediate orthopedic urgent care center in south Florida, which is staffed by surgeons from the International Orthopedic Group (IOG. OrthoNOW® was franchised in early 2013 and is actively engaging healthcare entrepreneurs and surgeons, here and abroad, to open orthopedic urgent care facilities in an effort to improve patient care and reduce overall costs. Dr. Badia lectures around the world on upper extremity orthopedic surgery. Dr. Badia studied physiology at Cornell University and obtained his medical degree at NYU. He runs an active international hand fellowship, serves on the editorial board of two hand journals, and organizes a yearly Miami meeting for surgeons/therapists that is devoted to upper limb arthroscopy and arthroplasty. He is a founding member of the American Hand Institute.
