Surviving Pancreatic Cancer and Embracing Life

Pancreatic cancer survivor Joel Evans has beaten the odds and now he is on a mission to help others. In his brief, motivational memoir, SURVIVING CANCER AND EMBRACING LIFE: My Personal Journey, Evans shares his journey from the first phone call with the doctor, to today, where he’s created a website and blog to support others facing a devastating diagnosis.

Joel R. Evans, PhD, served as a professor at Hofstra University’s Zarb School of Business for forty-four years, and is a survivor of pancreatic cancer. After retiring from teaching, he decided to share his journey with those who were struggling with any terrible disease; he wants to offer hope and support, and let them know that, “There is a light at the end of the tunnel, even if that light is not as bright as before.”

In addition to his time as a professor, Dr. Evans is also a leading textbook author, with books published in multiple languages including English, Chinese and Russian, as well as an active blogger and frequent guest speaker. He lives on Long Island, New York.
