Parenting a Schizophrenic Child

Susan Sheena, a mother of 4 boys, including a son diagnosed with schizophrenia at age 20, talks about her experience, what she wished she had known going into it and advice for other parents/patients to help better navigate a diagnosis.

Susan Sheena is the mother of four boys and her eldest son, Lance, is living with schizophrenia. She is passionate about advocating for her son’s recovery and also helping others so that they do not have to go it alone. Susan currently serves on the board of directors for the Schizophrenia and Related Disorders Alliance of America (SARDAA).
